Amcor Flexible Capsules unveiled its new Stelvin Inside line of capsules with four different types of liners each with a different oxygen transmission rate (OTR). Amcor reports all the films used in the liners are free of PVDC or polyvinylidene chloride. Each of the four new liners offers a distinct OTR from low to high. Details: amcor.com
The new MacroTote 5-FV by Macro Plastics and Calpine Containers is a single-piece, injection-molded collapsible tote. According to the manufacturer, the tote’s lightweight construction and ergonomic handles allow for easier handling in the field. The tote weigh 1.37 pounds and have a peak depth of 6.3 inches and can handle 36 lbs. of produce. With flip style latches and hinged edges, the reusable tote can fold down flat to 1.34 inches in height, making it more cost-effective for one-way shipments. The company also released its MacroTote 6-FV, which is also designed for easy handling and quick transfer to cold storage. Nomacorc has updated its NomaSense analyzer for measuring total oxygen rates in packaged wine. The new analyzers are equipped with integrated Total Package Oxygen (TPO) calculator to eliminate the need for external software. The manufacturer also reports it improved the software interface for easier navigation, simpler calibration data management and better file management system for improved traceability. An integrated bar code scanner helps sample identification. The unit is also smaller and lighter, designed to truly offer “handheld” use. The new NomaSense should be available this spring. Premier Wine Cask is now offering the “The Bucket Press” by Champagne, France based Les Pressoirs Coquard. The press is designed for red wines and has a capacity of two tons. According to a statement by Napa, Calif., based Premier Wine Cask, the gentle cycle of the press means less pomace movement and less solids in the pressed wine. “Coquard is a great name among winemakers, perhaps the number one preferred brand internationally in the grape-pressing process,” said Premier Wine Cask president Eric Mercier in a statement. Prooftag, a document security and brand protection firm based in Montauban, France, released its Prooftag Cerv web-based interface. The new platform allows clients to manage all certification tags produced by Prooftag as well the Bubble Tag and Fiber Tag, according to a statement released by Prooftag. Users can now manage information about the certified product or document, trace the distribution and use of products or documents, control access authority and access statistics on authentication timing and location. Tonnellerie Radoux released a new variable capacity, tight-grain oak fermenter. The oak vat comes in a range of 1, 2 or 3 ton capacities. The vats are equipped with either stainless steel or fiberglass “floating” lids. Once fermentation is done, the vats can be lifted and tipped over a press with a forklift. The Vintner Group’s wholesale operation in that state, The Country Vintner of North Carolina, will absorb Dionysus’ portfolio and sales force.
