Dosatron International, Inc. unveiled its new 40 GPM fertilizer injector for irrigation systems. The new injector offers improved chemical resistant housing, enhanced UV resistance, allows injection of corrosive chemicals, and features adjustable injection rates and easy-to read graduated scales, according to product information. The D8R can inject fertilizers, pesticides, and caustic chemicals accurately with a flow rate of 2.2 to 40 GPM, an injection ratio of 1:500 – 1:50, and a pressure range of 2 to 110 PSI. The new LITE stretch wrap by GaleWrap is designed to provide greater strength with less material, according to a company statement. LITE wrap rolls are 50% stronger than pre-stretched films of equal weight, allowing for greater load integrity and less wasted film from breaks or tears. Rolls of LITE material are also half as heavy as material of equivalent strength. Available in 60-70 gauge performance equivalent, LITE Oriented Film comes in 15” or 18” width and 2,000’ length. First developed as a custom product, the tangential air nozzle by Lechler is now available to the general public. The primary purpose of the nozzle is to prevent the oxidation of welds. Parkson Corporation introduced a larger version of its Aqua WashPress system for wastewater and industrial water treatment. The Aqua WashPress is a low-maintenance system that ties in directly with the screen, to operate only when the screen is active, and as needed. Standard-Knapp introduced the Tritium Multipacker, a continuous motion multi-packer designed for the food, beverage and personal care industries. With single, double and three lane configurations, the Tritium arranges products into compact pack patterns and wraps the configurations in film. Guala Closures and glass company O-I partnered to create a screw-top packaging system for DeBortoli Wines, an Australian sparkling wine producer. Guala developed its new closure “Viiva” and O-I created a glass bottle to fit the closure, according to a statement released by the companies. The new product is intended to reduce the risk of cork taint in sparkling wine as well as facilitate easier opening. JWB Marketing, maker of audio deterrent systems for crop protection from birds, has released Deer Shield. The new audio system employs digital recordings of alarmed, hostile and territorial deer broadcast through high fidelity weather-resistant speakers to trigger a primal fear and flee response in deer. The company states deer soon relocate to where they can feed without feeling threatened as well as change their feeding and travel patterns to avoid the area completely.
MANA Crop Protection has released a new insecticide compound designed to comply with California clean air standards for low volatile organic compound VOC products, according to a company statement.
French winemaking supplier Oenobrands released a new yeast nutrient Natuferm that it claims to be “particularly rich in amino acids aromatic ester precursors.” When used under suitable temperature and turbidity conditions in association with a yeast strain selected for its ability to produce aromatic esters, Natuferm can increase the sensorial quality of white, red and rosé wines. Composed of autolysed yeast, Natuferm offers a source of nutrition that enhances yeast viability with its high concentration of organic assimilable nitrogen and trace elements. The new product can only be added during the first step of alcoholic fermentation. Despite its high concentration in amino acids, Oenobrands reports it designed the product to avoid increasing undesirable compounds, such as biogenic amines and ethyl carbamate in wines. Designed specifically for use in wineries, the TankJet 55 is now available from Spraying Systems Co. According to a company press release, the TankJet 55 cleans using narrow angle full cone sprays rotating in multiple axes for 360° coverage. The full cone sprays reduce impact and prevents losing toast in barrels. TankJet 55 is compact to fit in openings as small as 1-3/4" (44.5 mm) and easily inserted into standard bung hole openings. The unit is constructed of 316L stainless steel with carbon-filled PTFE seals. Two models are available: standard for faster rotation and shorter cycle times and slow, rotational models, which are good for cleaning tougher residues. TankJet 55 can clean 59 gallon (223 l) wine barrels and can also be used to clean 55 gallon (208 l) drums and small tanks, containers and totes. Details: tankjet.com
