At almost twice the size of Sonoma Cast Stone’s egg-shaped concrete fermentation tanks, the new 925-gallon conical concrete tanks offers the same advantages but with more space. Sonoma Cast Stone reports the tank’s conical design “compacts the cap and forces it into the wine.” A pomace door allows the tank to be used for white and red wines. Details:
Monvera Glass Décor, a provider of bottle decoration services to the wine, spirits, beverage and food industry, is the recipient of an award from the Society of Glass and Ceramic Decorated Products (SGCDpro). The award was won in the Container’s category and presented at DECO 2012, the society’s annual meeting. Global Package LLC announced the recent addition of a new burgundy bottle—the Claire—to its Elegant Light line of bottles. It also recently added a new line of competitively priced spirits bottles to its floor stock, as well as a new collection of customizable European spirits bottles designed for the high-end market. While the Claire bottle conforms to the standards of the superior, lighter-weight bottles in the Elegant Light line—including a 1.5” punt and 31.5mm capsule top—it is a definitive line extension which differs from the sturdier-formed Bella and Carré bottles yet in the same line with its taller and broader body, it also provides a more substantial label area compared to bottles in its category. It boasts more reserved styling than other bottles in its category, with an elegant swan’s neck. The Claire is available in antique green in any quantity and can be also ordered along with brand-printed boxes. “We believe in intelligent design continuity,” says Erica Harrop, founder of Global Package LLC in Napa, CA. “Every bottle we add to our Elegant Light line must adhere to certain standards, like the 31.5mm capsule top dimension, so customers gain the most cost-effective bottling efficiencies when they buy from us.” Global Package has also introduced a new line of competitively priced, mid-weight spirits bottles for the discriminating, high-end market. ITW Muller introduces its latest machine stretch wrap film “Reducer.” The high strength, thin gauge film is produced using a new, proprietary formula. As a result, Reducer has the highest force-to-film weight ratio on the market, according to ITW Muller. JBC’s new large bottle corker is designed to handle bottles from 3 to 27 liters. Light enough to be carried by one person, the corker is fully adjustable, 50” tall and takes up less than one square foot of space.
