Diogo-Draper promoted at Artesa
Napa, Calif.—Ana Diogo-Draper is the new director of winemaking at Artesa Vineyards & Winery in the Carneros AVA following the departure of head winemaker Mark Beringer, who is joining Beringer Vineyards. Diogo-Draper joined Artesa in 2013 and becomes the first woman to hold the top winemaking post at the winery, which opened in 1991 and is owned by the Spanish firm Bodegas y Viñedos Codorniu Raventos. Diogo-Draper is a native of Portugal and is fluent in Portugese, Spanish, French and English. She came to California in 2005 for a harvest internship at Rutherford Hill Winery and rose through the ranks to become assistant winemaker.
