Missouri wine, grape impact at $1.76 billion

Jefferson City, Mo.—The total economic impact of the Missouri wine and grape industry was pegged at $1.76 billion, according to a recently released report commissioned by the state’s wine and grape board. The report, based on 2013 data, found the state’s total annual production of 526,000 cases of wine had a retail value of $52 million. Missouri’s wine industry supported 14,959 full time jobs earning $454 million in wages and generated $96 million in state and local taxes.
