Washington D.C.—Jim Trezise will become the new president of lobbying group WineAmerica in January 2017. According to the statement announcing the appointment, Trezise is transitioning from his 31-year position as president of the New York Wine & Grape Foundation to an increased role with WineAmerica. Trezise will remain president of the International Riesling Foundation, judging in major wine competitions, and continue his involvement with other wine industry organizations and activities.

WineAmerica is the national organization of American wineries, representing wine producer members from 43 states with grassroots public policy advocacy in Washington, DC. Trezise will be working with the group’s current staff and travel to Washington D.C. as needed but will continue to work from the upstate New York on a day-to-day basis.
