Winery Jobs Return to Growth Mode in May
Winery hiring activity got back into positive numbers in May, as the Winery Job Index rose 6% compared to May 2015, according to Winejobs.com. Hospitality job postings in May grew 30% from last May, and helped turn around April's negative growth. Sales and marketing jobs also grew in double digits while winemaker jobs were slightly negative in growth.

The Winery Job Index in May beat last May by 6%, making the third positive growth month this year.

 

Job postings for winemakers, enologists, cellar, lab and production positions fell 1% short of last May's total.

 

Winery hiring activity for sales and marketing jobs increased 12% in May, making the fourth month in a row of growth.

 

Hospitality job activity went up by 30% in May from a year ago, due in part to unusually slow activity in May 2015.
