U.S. Winery Counts
The number of US Wineries continues to grow steadily. Most new wineries tend to start out with fairly low production levels, less than 5,000 cases per year. In fact, 78% of US wineries produce fewer than 5,000 cases annually. So, while the count of wineries has grown by 18% over the past 4 years, total production has increased 9%. The total production figure is dominated by the 50 largest wineries who account for nearly 84% of cases produced.
