Bucher Vaslin
Bucher Vaslin’s new TRV 25 is a vibrating table that comes with two stainless steel drain grids as well as a flat panel. The table is linked with trapezoidal bars and can be set at 4 mm, 6 mm or
8 mm spacing. A vibrating “intermediate grid” with perforations of 2x20 mm prevents debris from falling into the juice channel, which can be set to empty to the left or right of the machine. Throughput is 20 to 25 tons per hour, depending on grape variety and condition. Price: $29,000.

P&L Specialties
P&L Specialties’ new “Cluster Thruster” evenly meters whole clusters at 2 to 30 tons per hour. The machine can process a half-ton bin dump at once, and its oscillating motion moves grapes evenly and gently onto a conveyor that can be set to feed a manual sorting line, destemmer or press. The hopper and conveyor are designed to be easy to clean and easy to incorporate into an existing crush pad system. Price: Check with supplier.

Criveller
Criveller’s new roller-sorter table is designed to be placed after the destemmer to provide a quick and easy way to ensure MOG is removed from the grape stream. The device employs a series of rollers that move MOG toward a waste-collection channel. Whole berries slip through the rollers into a must pump or another conveyor for further hand sorting. The spaces between the rollers can be adjusted depending on berry size. Criveller reports the unit removes a “high percentage” of jacks and works with machine or hand-harvested grapes. The rollers can be removed for easy washing. Throughput ranges from 1 to 15 tons per hour. Price: Starting at $13,000.

Other options include a light bar over the sorting area, MOG gutters along the main sorting area and multiple waste-collection bins beneath the sorting areas. The table is also equipped with a drain for free-run juice. Price: Starting at $12,000.
