Eastern Winery Exposition Trade Show Is Sold Out

by Linda Jones McKee

Lancaster, Pa.—If you are a grapegrower or winemaker east of the Rockies and are looking for the latest in vineyard and winery equipment and supplies, the trade show at the Eastern Winery Exposition (EWE) is the place to be this March 7-8.

Bob Mignarri, EWE’s show manager, announced in early December that booths at the trade show are sold out. The trade show will take place in in the Lancaster County Convention Center in Lancaster, Pa., with 186 companies utilizing 252 booth spaces to promote their products and services, and additional companies will have tables in the lobby of the conference hall. There is a waiting list for companies interested in exhibiting at EWE, should any cancellations occur.

The EWE is the largest conference and trade show east of the Rockies. The program in 2018 will feature two full-day workshops on March 6. “Sparkling Wine” will cover topics including vineyard considerations, production issues and current marketing trends. The second workshop, “Managing Microbes,” will review the major spoilage microbes affecting wine and tackle how winemakers can detect and control those microbes. The conference sessions March 7 and 8 will feature 34 speakers, 40 workshop and conference sessions, tastings, networking and social events, and the trade show.

For the second year, EWE is partnering with the License to Steal (LTS) conference produced by the Ohio Wine Producers Association. LTS features sessions that are dedicated to wine-marketing issues and ideas; it is oriented for anyone who is involved with wine sales: owners, general managers, tasting room personnel, tourism professionals, etc. Attendees at LTS will be able to visit the trade show and participate in networking events, including the seventh annual EWE Industry Celebration Dinner on March 7. As part of their registration package, those attending EWE will have the option of going to two LTS sessions, “The Power of the Brand” and “The Future of Wine Goggles (Is Not What You Think).”
