Cork campaign to help wineries with marketing
Sacramento, Calif.—The cork-awareness campaign 100% Cork is launching a new effort to help wineries that use cork bottle closures to promote their brands. Making its debut at the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium in Sacramento, the campaign will assist wineries that use corks with social media publicity, marketing materials and news media public relations. The campaign is highlighting a recent consumer survey in which 61% of those surveyed expressed a preference for cork. “Despite consumer preference for natural cork, most wineries that use cork rarely inform customers of their choice for closure,” said Carlos de Jesus, global campaign director for the Portuguese Cork Association.
