Michael David acquires DeLuca Vineyard

Lodi, Calif.—Michael David Winery of Lodi announced the acquisition of the 160-acre DeLuca Vineyard in the Clement Hills sub-appellation of the Lodi AVA. The vineyard is planted to own-rooted, head-trained Zinfandel starting in 1961. Michael David has been using fruit from the DeLuca Vineyard in its 7 Deadly Zins since 2004, becoming the sole buyer for the vineyard’s yields by 2009.

DeLuca Vineyard adheres to the Lodi Rules sustainable grapegrowing program. According to the winery, Michael David owns more than 800 acres of vines in the Lodi AVA.

7 Deadly Zins is one of the best-selling labels sold by 600,000-case Michael David Winery, which also produces Earthquake, Freakshow, Petite Petit and 6th Sense. The winery is owned by brothers Michael and David Phillips.
