San Saba, Texas—Seth Urbanek is the new assistant winemaker at Wedding Oak Winery in San Saba, Texas. Urbanek, a Texas native, will be responsible for cellar management and assisting in all aspects of wine production with head winemaker and viticulturist, Penny Adams. Urbanek has worked in winemaking at wineries New York, Australia and France where he first gained an interest in wine while studying abroad for an undergraduate degree in international relations. After graduating from Texas A&M University, Urbanek was commissioned as second lieutenant in the U.S. Army and served two tours in Afghanistan. He was awarded the Bronze Star and concluded his service with the rank of captain at Fort Drum, N.Y.
