Winemaker Kent Rosenblum dies

Oakland, Calif.—Kent Rosenblum, founder of Rosenblum Cellars and Rock Wall Wine Company, died on Wednesday, Sept. 5. He was 74. Rosenblum was a veterinarian with a passion for winemaking, when he founded Rosenblum Cellars, an urban winery in West Oakland in 1978. After selling the winery in 2008, Rosenblum founded Rock Wall Winery with daughter Sauna Rosenblum. Rosenblum is survived by his wife, Kathy, daughters Shauna and Kristen, and granddaughter Skylar. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations to the Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS) be made in Kent Rosenblum's name.
