Glen Rock, N.J.—Hubert Opici, founder of Opici Family Distributing, which was No. 9 in Wines Vines Analytic’s recent report on the top ten U.S. wine distributors, died Sept. 11. He was 102. Opici had been  named “American Wine Legend” by Wine Enthusiast magazine in 2014. Opici is survived by his daughter Linda Opici, along with two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions be made to the WSWA Educational Foundation in his name.
