Ithaca, N.Y.—A Finger Lakes vineyard that has been owned by the same family for more than 100 years is now covered by a conservation easement that requires the property always be used as a vineyard. The Finger Lakes Land Trust and the Argetsinger family, which owns the vineyard, announced in January that they had agreed to a conservation easement on the property. The Argetsinger family sells the Riesling grapes grown on the vineyard to Ravines Wine Cellars.
