Flat Rock, N.C.—Blue Ridge Community College’s winemaking and brewing program received nearly $250,000 from the Duke Energy Foundation. The money will be used to purchase equipment for the college’s new fermentation and distillation program, according to a statement released by the school. The program is intended to train local workers for the new beer, wine and cider companies in North Carolina’s Henderson and Transylvania counties.
