Economic impact of wine in Ohio
Reynoldsburg, Ohio—The Ohio wine and grape industry generated an economic impact of $786 million in 2012, according to a report commissioned and funded by the Ohio Grape Industries Committee. Ohio’s wine industry supported 5,291 full-time jobs and generated $87 million in federal and state taxes. The economic impact had grown 34% since a similar report conducted in 2008. According to the Wines Vines Analytics winery database, Ohio is home to 144 wineries, which produce 750,000 cases of wine.
