Paso Robles, Calif.—Epoch Estate Wines opened its new tasting room in the “historic and beloved bones of York Mountain Winery.” The tasting room is located in the remnants of the winery established in 1882 as the first bonded facility in the Central Coast. The structure had been condemned in 2003 after being damaged in an earthquake and in 2010 Epoch owners Liz and Bill Armstrong purchased the property out of foreclosure. The reconstruction was done by Lake Flato Architects and included the preservation of original redwood beams as well as bricks fired on the property in 1906.
