U.S. Wine Sales Up 3% in January
U.S. wine sales, both domestic and bulk imports, rose 3% to $2.8 billion in January 2018, market research firm bw166 reported. The latest 12 months saw domestic wine sales near $42 billion, up 2% from a year ago. Sales of packaged imports increased 4%, double the rate for domestic wines. An extra $885 million in packaged imports sold in the latest 12 months, while domestic sales added just $733 million. Total wine sales approached $63 billion in the latest 12 months, up 3% from a year ago.
