U.S. Wine Sales Up 3% as Cabernet Leads Growth
U.S. wine sales totaled $3.6 billion in August, up 3% from a year ago. Off-premise sales tracked by IRI rose 1% to $641 million while direct-to-consumer (DtC) shipments increased 5% to $136 million. Cabernet Sauvignon dominates both channels, with strong growth in both the top and bottom price segments. Winejobs.com's Winery Job Index was flat at 294, but demand for vineyard labor increased 80%.
