Dublin, Ohio—David Scurlock, the viticulture outreach specialist at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center of the Ohio State University, was inducted to the Ohio Wine Hall of Fame at the annual banquet of the Ohio Grape and Wine Conference on Feb. 16. Scurlock has been with the center since 1980 and helped the state’s grape growers transition from growing mostly native juice grapes to vinifera and hybrid wine grape varieties as well as assist those new to the wine and grape industry. “David’s advice and support has been critical to helping us grow quality grapes here in the Avon Lake area,” said Lee Klingshirn owner of Klingshirn Winery.
