Covenant hires GM

Berkeley, Calif.—Covenant Wines hired Sagie Kleinlerer as its first general manager. Kleinlerer will oversee sales, marketing and the expansion of the Kosher winery. Covenant is sold in markets throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, central and South America, Europe, Israel and Australia. Founded in 2003 by partners Leslie Rudd and Jeff Morgan, Covenant has doubled its production in the last three years, built a 7,000-square foot winery in downtown Berkeley and recently released its first wine from Israel—Covenant Israel. Kleinlerer, a lawyer by training, worked at Larkmead Vineyard in Napa Valley prior to coming to Covenant. He is Israeli/American and will also assist in the winery’s ongoing projects in Israel.
