New York, N.Y.—Vinous, the wine review website founded by critic Antonio Galloni, has acquired the wine apps Delectable and Banquet. According to the press release announcing the deal, Delectable has more than 120,000 monthly users and is a crowd-based wine review app in which users scan labels with their smartphones. Banquet helps users locate and purchase wines. The Delectable and Banquet engineering team will join Vinous as part of the acquisition, and both apps will continue to operate as they do currently.

"From the beginning, our goal at Vinous has been to create a digital ecosystem that brings together best-in-class wine reviews, articles, videos, maps and other wine-related content available nowhere else, and to then deliver that platform with scale," said Galloni in the press release. "Delectable gives Vinous unprecedented reach globally, while Banquet is an essential mobile tool for helping consumers find and purchase wines."
