LVMH buys majority stake of Colgin

St. Helena, Calif.—The French firm, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, is acquiring a 60% stake in Napa Valley Winery Colgin Cellars from owners Ann Colgin and Joe Wender who will retain 40% of the company and their leadership roles along with chief operations officer Paul Roberts and winemaker Allison Tauziet. “After a social introduction to Mr. Arnault several months ago and discussions with the LVMH team, I realized that I could not find a better partner for Colgin Cellars to preserve our founding spirit and our exquisitely handcrafted red wines, into the future,” said founder Ann Colgin in a statement released by LVMH.

The luxury goods and wine and spirits company already owns Newton Vineyard and Domaine Chandon in Napa Valley as well as Chateau d’Yquem, Chateau Cheval Blanc, Veuve Clicquot and several other wineries in France and around the world.
