SSU Offers Wine MBA
Sonoma State University, Rohnert Park, Calif., will begin offering an M.B.A. program for wine business this fall, the first of its kind in the U.S. The program is a public-private partnership between the university and the wine industry, and is 100% industry funded. Sweet and Fortified Group Started
Growers and producers have founded the Sweet and Fortified Wine Association, a nonprofit aimed to educate and create public awareness of these products. For details, visit sweetandfortifiedwine.org.

Tangent Plants Albariño
Tangent, San Luis Obispo, Central Coast, planted 55 acres of its Paragon Vineyard in the Edna Valley to Albariño grapes, adding to its white wine alternative line-up that includes Viognier, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc. Eight acres of Grüner Veltliner and 6 acres of Grenache Blanc were also planted.

Cameron Hughes Goes Carbon Neutral
San Francisco-based negociant Cameron Hughes Wine has partnered with the CarbonFund.org Foundation to offset business-related carbon emissions by supporting climate-friendly renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation projects, becoming the world's first negociant to be 100% carbon neutral. Round Pond Opens Winery Facility
Round Pond Estate, a family-owned vineyard and orchard estate, opened its Napa Valley winery and tasting room in June. Round Pond produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Nebbiolo and Sauvignon Blanc wines, wine vinegar and olive oil. For details, visit roundpond.com.
