California Glass adds account manager

Vinovation recognized for energy savings
Vinovation, Inc., Sebastopol, Calif., was recognized with a $34,000 rebate from power utility PG&E for innovative design in reducing energy consumption. Vinovation invested in a closed-loop cooling tower to replace its compressor-driven cooling processor, used in the company's alcohol reduction process. PG&E estimated the new equipment will reduce annual energy consumption by 289,000 kilowatt hours.

Two Ph.D.s join Vinquiry
Grady Wann, previously winemaker and general manager at Quivira Vineyards, now provides consulting, technical support and international project management for Vinquiry, based in Windsor, Sonoma County. Nichola Hall, former microbiology manager at Bronco Wine Co., now consults on sanitation and fermentation issues, and is a technical representative for Vinquiry winemaking products.

Gamajet moved to larger facilities
