Cork Supply USA hires two
Cork Supply USA has hired Peter Hladun as technical services director and Laura Gorton as an analytical chemist. Hladun is responsible for managing the company’s laboratory operations, including all incoming and outgoing quality control. Gorton will conduct incoming sampling, TCA screening and outgoing quality control for cork and oak products. Prior to joining Cork Supply USA, Hladun worked for E. & J. Gallo as a senior packaging quality engineer, and Gorton was the enologist for Trinchero Napa Valley. Details: corksupply.com.

Promotions at Canopy Management
Canopy Management, a Napa Valley wine branding, sales and marketing company, announced that Natalie Wassum has been promoted to vice president and partner for marketing, and Mary Ann Vangrin is now the vice president and partner for communications and social media. Wassum was part of the founding team at Canopy in 2008, and Vangrin worked for several Napa Valley wineries prior to joining Canopy in 2009.  

New consultant at Vivelys USA
Vivelys USA’s former manager of global wine experimentation, Nils Teissier du Cros, is now the company’s winemaking consultant. Du Cros can consult at every stage of the winemaking process including picking decisions, fermentation management, micro- or macro-oxygenation and Brettanomyces controls. Details: vivelysusa.com.

New hires, expansion at MA Silva
