Francois Freres buys Radoux
French cooper Francois Fréres closed the deal to purchase Radoux Cooperage for 45.3 million euros. The deal includes Pronektar, Radoux’s line of barrel alternatives. Radoux produces only French oak barrels, of which 80% are exported.

New operations VP for ConeTech
Jack Ryno is now vice president of operations for ConeTech, PolarClad Inc. and TFC Wines Inc., as well as ConeTech’s five international subsidiaries. Before joining ConeTech, Ryno was the president of Ledson Winery & Vineyards. Details: conetech.com.

Winesecrets forms service partnerships
Sonoma Wine Co., a full-service crush-to-bottle contract winery service provider located on California’s North Coast, has partnered with Winesecrets, a wine-production consultant, to offer cross-platform services to third-party clients. The partnership will offer client services throughout the winemaking process, from custom crushing and blending, bottling, labeling, barrel storage, bulk wine storage and case goods storage services to a full spectrum of additional specialty vinification services. Winesecrets also announced its partnership with Australian firm Diverse Barrel Solutions to offer barrel restoration through their Phoenix system at its Sebastopol, Calif., location. SureHarvest names new sales director
SureHarvest announced the addition of David Sypnieski as sales director. Sypnieski will lead an expansion of the company’s farm-management software business. Prior to joining SureHarvest, Sypnieski worked with a variety of agri-tech businesses including Soil & Topography Information Inc. and TruGreen LandCare. Details: sureharvest.com.

Irrigation provider enters U.S. market
The Australian firm WiSA Irrigation Management Systems has entered the U.S. market and is represented by Off The Vine LLC. WiSA integrates in-ground sensors, leaf sensors and weather stations to control motors, valves, engines, wind machines and more through a wireless network. Details: wisaamerica.com.

Bank joins water coalition
Rabobank announced that it joined the California Farm Water Coalition (CFWC), an organization with the goal of increasing public awareness of agriculture’s water use. Formed in 1989 during a six-year drought, the nonprofit CFWC provides balanced information regarding the economic, social and environmental benefits of irrigated agriculture.

WineAmerica hires member services chief
WineAmerica, the National Association of American Wineries, hired Tara Good as manager of member services. Good comes to WineAmerica from the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States. WineAmerica was founded in 1978 as a trade association of wineries with membership based in the eastern United States.
