St. Helena, Calif.—Jackson Family Wines acquired the Yverdon Vineyard and Winery in the Spring Mountain AVA of Napa Valley. The 77-acre estate, which was established by Fred Aves in the 1960s and later acquired by Angus and Margaret Wurtele, was the former home of Terra Valentine winery. The property includes 25 acres of vines, a stone villa and a winery. According to a news release from Jackson Family Wines, the company intends to make the property the future home of Lokoya winery, which is also in Napa. The deal did not include the Terra Valentine brand or Wurtele vineyard. Terra Valentine is moving to a new location in St. Helena.
