Paso Robles, Calif.—Michael Dus Logistics (MDL) hired Owen Schmidt as its new chief operating officer. Schmidt joins MDL with 20 years of experience in transportation and logistics; he has held senior executive positions at Cross Border Trading, Advanced Quality Logistics and Performance Team Freight Systems. In his new role, Schmidt will have primary responsibility for the company’s day-to-day operations. MDL also hired Alexandra Lersey as the company’s new controller. Prior to joining MDL, Lersey held senior accounting positions in the wine, media and aerospace industries, including roles with Extant Wines, REC Solar Corporation and Twentieth Century Fox.
