Ben Franklin expands to Northwest

TricorBraun employee is honored
Theresa Duricek, project manager, Internet applications at TricorBraun's St. Louis, Mo., headquarters, was awarded the title of Certified Packaging Professional by the Institute of Packaging Professionals. The certification requires six years of experience, completion of rigorous testing, and a review of packaging industry activities.

Artisan hires first regional sales manager
Artisan Barrels/Aubin Cellars, Oakland, Calif. cooperage, appointed Gerhard Ziemer as its first regional sales manager, concentrating on California's Bay Area, Central Coast and Sierra Foothils; Washington and British Columbia, and the East Coast. Previously, he had a similar position with Premier Wine Cask.

ZORK equips bottlers
ZORK USA, Napa, Calif. producer of the ZORK alternative wine closure, partnered with three bottlers, providing equipment so that California wineries can utilize the product. Sonoma Wine Co., which operates in the Napa/Sonoma region; Top It Off Bottling, serving Northern California as far north as Oregon, and Castoro Bottling Co., can all now provide ZORK services. ZORK, a division of Portola Packaging, Inc., signed Pickering Winery Supply to sell and distribute its closures in California, Washington and Oregon.

Summit Engineering promotes Yang
Summit Engineering, Santa Rosa, Calif., wine industry engineering specialist, promoted Yi Yang, S.E., to an associate in the firm. Since he joined Summit in 2001, he has worked as a structural design engineer and project manager concentrating on winery, commercial and residential projects.

Hyster redesigns forklift
Hyster Company, Greenville, N.C., introduced its new Fortis® forklift line of lift trucks, Each lift truck is offered with multiple powertrain configurations to meet specific application requirements; capacities range from 2,000-15,500 pounds and choice of gas, LP and diesel engines. Hyster recently donated a new S4OFTS lift truck to the state of California and non-profit Adventist Community Services to aid in recovery from the recent Southern California wildfires.
