Nomacorc wins innovation prize

Saint-Gobain is climate leader

Saint-Gobain Containers Inc., Muncie, Ind., has joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Climate Leaders program, pledging to reduce its corporate greenhouse gas emissions. As a member of the Glass Packaging Institute (GPI), the firm also plans to use 50% recycled content in its manufacturing process by 2013. The company recently released its second feature animation aimed at primary school children illustrating the importance of recycling glass containers. P&L sorter is patented

Santa Rosa, Calif.-based P&L Specialties received a U.S. patent for its LT (Le Trieur) grape berry-sorting machine. The LT and its larger version LT 2+2 are the first and only such machinery for removal of MOG to be patented in the U.S. For details, visit pnlspecialties.com.

Ben Franklin adds green printer

Ben Franklin Press & Label Co., Napa, Calif., has a new “Green Machine” printing press designed to print pressure sensitive wine labels using the UV waterless offset process.

Koch offers improved lees treatment
