Ladoix Serrigny, France—Tonnellerie Cadus will plant a tree in France for every barrel it sells. Working with a nursery in Burgundy, the cooper will replant sessile and common oak trees throughout several regions in France for each barrel delivered to wineries, according to a press release from the company. The forestry advocacy group, Ecocert Environnement, will ensure the correct number of trees are planted as well as monitor the health of the young trees and check the density and area of planting.
