Cork Supply Buys Technical Cork Plant in Portugal

Benicia, Calif.—Cork Supply Group of Benicia purchased a manufacturing facility in Portugal, where it will make technical corks for sparkling wine, micro 1+1 stoppers, traditional 1+1 closures and micro-agglomerate cork closures. As owner of the manufacturing site Cork Supply 4 (CSP4), Cork Supply Group will oversee every step of cork closure production from harvest through manufacturing and sales. The team managing the facility will include executive director Antonio Bastos and production supervisor Manuel Antonio Ferreira, who have combined experience of more than 40 years producing technical corks.
