Iberian varieties arrive in California
Sunridge Nurseries Inc., Bakersfield, Calif., has become the exclusive producer and marketer for clones of Iberian winegrape varieties sourced from Viveiros Plansel, Plantas Selecionadas Ltda. of Portugal, the leading private clonal breeder in Spain and Portugal. Eleven clones have been released from UC Davis' Foundation Plant Services quarantine program and are being blown-up for propagation and availability next year. Seguin Moreau has new president
Seguin Moreau Napa Cooperage, subsidiary of the Oeneo Group, appointed François Peltereau-Villeneuve president and CEO. Previously, he was with Champagne Laurent-Perrier.

Enologist joins VinOak
Enologist Andrea Tary has signed on to the sales team of VinOak, responsible for accounts in California and Washington. VinOak is a division of Cork Supply USA and supplies both French and American oak barrels and oak adjuncts. Tary has 11 years of experience in wine labs and winemaking with Napa and Sonoma wineries. Cork Supply also announced the appointment of Craig Castelein as its vice president of sales. Previously he was with Option One Mortgage Corp.

Combo stopper from Battistella
Battistella USA, American Canyon, Calif., has devised a combination of natural cork and synthetic material to marry the best attributes of each. Unified Symposium to expand
