Lion Nathan acquires MacRostie

Lion Nathan USA announced the acquisition of 30,000-case Sonoma-based MacRostie Winery and Vineyards, established in 1987. Founder Steve MacRostie and longtime winemaker Kevin Holt will both be staying on at MacRostie and will continue to contribute to the winemaking program and brand direction. Fetzer portfolio fetches $238 million
Chilean-based Viña Concha y Toro announced the acquisition of 4 million-case Fetzer Vineyards and related assets from Brown-Forman in California. The purchase price for the transaction is $238 million. The transaction is expected to close in April and is subject to regulatory and other customary closing conditions. The acquisition includes Fetzer, Bonterra, Five Rivers, Jekel, Sanctuary and Little Black Dress. Details: conchaytoro.com.

Buena Vista Carneros to be consolidated
Ascentia Wine Estates will consolidate production and expand grape sourcing for its Buena Vista wine brand. Buena Vista operations will be shifted to the 225,000-case Geyser Peak facility, another brand in the Ascentia Wines portfolio. Visit: ascentiawineestates.com.

Patty Bogle dies
Patty Bogle, head of Bogle Winery, passed away Feb. 11, surrounded
by family in her home. She succumbed to complications related to acute myeloid leukemia. Bogle was 59. The Bogle family winery will continue to operate under the direction of her children and longtime employees. Visit: boglewinery.com.
